Officials in Nevada are fearing they could be overwhelmed with visitors on September 20th as they have now drafted an EMERGENCY DECLARATION ahead of next month's "Storm Area 51" event.

The once top secret US Air Force test site known in popular lore as a site for gov't studies on outer space aliens as more than 2 million people have pledged to descend upon the base

But officials predict only 40,000 PEOPLE would show up but that's enough to stoke concern

Commision Chairman, Varlin Higbee said "We're taking this seriously. With the possibility of 35,000 to 40,000 people, or even worse the 2 million who pledged to show up, yeah, this is serious"

County officials are concerned that the surge will crowd campsites, gas stations and public medical, internet and cellphone services with only 184 hotel rooms in the country, which is nearly twice the size of Connecticut

Higbee says the cellphone system is going to be down as they get more than a couple of hundred people there and it's going to crash cell phone service

Hotel co-owner, Connie West said she's expecting 10,000 PEOPLE to show up at her rinky dink hotel

Higbee, who has the authority to invoke a declaration said they are seeking financial help and emergency personnel fro the state as they don't know how far their resources can go if visitors try to storm area 51.

They said they don't want people entering government property or to get in contact with the military at all or it will GET UGLY and people could DIE!!

But even then, that's a security nightmare.

All it will take is 1 or 2 nutjobs to pull out an actual gun and shoot at the soldiers on the base for them to abandon the non-lethal deterrents and simply drop everybody.

Again, they're trained to use non-lethal force on civilians who are not posing a direct threat. The moment an actual gun fires an actual bullet at one of the soldiers, non-lethal options go out the window. And rightfully so.

And again, this is America. So considering the only people who are going to go to this thing are absolute morons to begin with, it's really not much of a stretch to think at least one of them will be stupid enough to bring an actual gun.

I've spoken with an actual soldier regarding this, and the definition of "current threat" is very strict. A person aiming a gun at you is a current threat. A person who has, past tense, thrown an axe at you, is not a threat. Even if it was seconds ago. An unarmed civilian running at you is not a threat until they get within a certain distance. And I doubt there's a single person stupid enough to keep running at a soldier after multiple verbal commands to halt with a weapon trained on them.

But especially with this much of a heads up, surely the military can prep some sort of non-lethal mass detainment method. I don't know whether theres some sort of non-lethal gas that can be used or something similar but there's no excuse to go lethal unless something exceptional happens.
