I've received one traffic ticket from a speed camera on a stretch of highway where I was going the flow of traffic (it's Maryland, everyone speeds).

I've received two parking citations. One was for parking on this island in our cul-de-sac (everyone parked on it but yeah it was illegal) - I don't remember if I had to pay for that or if it was a warning. The other was just because my dumb ass put change in the wrong parking meter -_- that one I did have to pay for.

edit: For toll roads, I had to pay the max fine on one because I didn't get a ticket (I didn't realize you got a ticket when entering that road, kind of a weird system), and then I did get on one toll road twice without paying but they never sent me anything >_>

two, one for speeding and the other because i forgot to put my headlights on at night (tbf i was pulling out of a heavily lighted parking lot).

Four speeding tickets and one light parking ticket where I knew I just had to sprint in and out of a university building. Took me three minutes and someone still managed to ticket me and disappear without a trace. Must've been just camping somewhere.

None, and only a kind-of, sort-of parking ticket from campus security back when I was in college for parking in a carpool spot that I got waived for good behavior.

it should of been a warning imo like a learning experience. then when they infraction a second time they can do stiff penalty imo.

it's why traffic stops happen, they want everyone to be safe (as long as nothing illegal is happening).

In over 15 years; I've gotten 2 radar tickets; both of which were thrown out due to poor zoning. (I was doing 41KM/hour in a 50KM/hour zone. They thought it was 30KM/hour).

One for careless driving about a decade ago. I rear ended a car on the highway. I was following behind them in traffic, they changed lanes and I changed behind them. Just after changing lanes, they started slowing down to turn off the highway and I didn't see in time. They were able to drive away, but my front end was smashed up pretty bad. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but I learned to pay better attention.

It wasn't even a real ticket so it was a "whatever" thing. It was a rainy day and I didn't see the signage so I thought the spot was fine. Guess not, so hey, live and learn.

So, here's my parking ticket story. Freshmen year, I lived in a dorm on the edge of campus. My assigned parking spot was in a campus owned parking garage 3 blocks from my dorm. Me and fraternity brother had just gone costume shopping for a Halloween party. I needed to run an errand real quick in my dorm room, before dropping him off at the fraternity house. I parked ACROSS the street from my dorm. I parked "the wrong direction", and when I did so, my brother told me it was illegal. I said I've never heard of such a thing. The street I parked on did not have meters the non-college side of the street, had free parking, if you could get a spot. So, that's the deal.

I was in my dorm for like 10 minutes, came out, I had a ticket for parking the wrong direction issued by the campus cops. It was like 40 bucks. We didn't have to pay college parking tickets until the end of the semester. Week before finals, I roll in to pay. My ticket said it was issued by the campus cops. When I go to pay, they tell me its a city ticket and I would need to pay in the city building. They pointed out that although the ticket was issued by campus cops it was on city property. Which it did note somewhere on the fine print.

I go downtown to pay the ticket, and its like 150 bucks due to late fees. It sucked.

One speeding ticket that was dismissed by taking an online course. It was a speed trap too, they had a line of cars on the shoulders receiving tickets.

Once. I was going 4mph over the speed limit and that was the extent of the wrongdoing I did but the cop tried to tell me I was recklessly swerving everywhere and tried to hit me with a reckless driving charge. It got thrown out in court, I assume they were trying to meet a quota as it was the last day of the month.

I actually once got ticketed for speeding on a Monday, then on Friday that same week got cited for being in an accident BY THE SAME STATE TROOPER. I cannot put into words how mad that dude was.
