Yup

Life is stupid. I was made to feel bad by a lot of people because I always got good grades. Like fuck me for trying right?

You were seen as the kid who would rather have his nose in the books instead of having fun.

Nope, but they separated us with classes geared towards college bound kids and classes for kids planning on going into trades and other fields. The college bound kids were further separated by those in AP courses and those not.

I honestly didnt like most kids and really just wanted to do the work and go home. But i felt pressured to make friends and be social. One time i got docked for doing a group project by myself and yelled at the teacher cause the group would just take advantage of me anyways. The teacher just let it go.

Yes, unfortunately

I was told by some of my peers that showing up to class on time, paying attention in class, getting good grades, speaking properly, etc. was "acting white."

I didn't mind group work. I did tend to do most of the work, but then the others would do more of the presentation since I was so awkward back then and couldn't do them very well lol. I mean I'm still awkward, but I can do public speaking now. One of my upper level chemistry courses the professor made us present labs specifically to help build confidence in public speaking. I hated it at the time, but I really appreciate that he made us do it.

I was in the college bound courses and most of my peers and friends did fairly well in school. Not everyone was college material, but most of my friends were articulate and earned decent marks.

Thankfully no one cared where I was at. (Went to some average middle and highschool in south carolina).

I have heard stories from friends up north (in new jersey specifically) on how they had to deal with the "acting white" BS from their peers though.

From the talks we used to have about our highschool experiences, they gave me the impression that going to an inner city school in new jersey was god awful. (I mean yeah, a lot of us grew up seeing films like lean on me, but you can expect a movie to exaggerate things at times. Its a whole other perspective to hear it straight from a friend's mouth or something like that where they are like "yeah, our schools were that shitty like in leon on me").

Yeah I've heard about that. I have a cousin who is half and half black/white and she got that from people sometimes. Adds a whole new aspect to it that I have no experience with.

Went to private school so pretty much everyone there was fairly intelligent. Grades were kind of inconsequential to other students because you were anywhere from smart to really smart. Most people were legit able to get As. B and C students just didn't out of laziness.
