not at all. AHiT was fun but it felt very unpolished, especially compared to something as well polished as a Mario game.

Never played the hat game but Mario Odyssey was so fucking bland to me. It's one of the most overrated game I've ever played, like I was expecting greatness from what people around me were saying but all I got was an okay game. Lol

It had boss battles I'll give it that.

A hat in time is way shorter than Odyssey. Odyssey has several times the content and thus better for a first time experience. However, because of that it does admittedly start to drag on. AHiT on the other hand never felt like it was padded out at any point to me and was a blast from start to finish. I 100% cleared Odyssey and did up to lake kingdom on a second playthrough before I lost interest. I did 7 rounds of ahit.
