Use a garden hose if you have to, but pepper spray is cruel and probably too strong for a small animal like that.

A rubber snake or two may help also, place it in the general area and they will likely consider it a threat and not go near it.

Or a severe beating. Not saying it'd be legal, but I could definitely see someone beating the shit out of you if you pepper sprayed their cat. Especially if it did serious harm, as pepper spray isn't designed to be used on small animals.

I've been thinking of putting ghost pepper sauce on food on top of my trash can to stop these neighborhood cats from getting in my trash can and fucking making a mess of shit. It's getting old as hell and was never a problem until someone had a cat and like, 10 kittens.

Just try to handle this.

People should keep their pets in doors or on their own property

Mint works really well, if you can find a peppermint oil or a peppermint extract at the grocery store, put it generously around your trash cans and up near the lip of the can, I can almost guarantee it will deter all animals from getting into your trash at the expense of that area smelling minty.

Pepper is supposed to work also, but I think a mint extract would be cheaper, smells better, and isn't as bad if you accidentally get some on your hands or whatever.

That sounds cruel and fucked up to me tbh lmfao god damn..

Took a quick google search to find the following:

How do you stop a cat from pooping in my yard?
"Scatter lemon or orange peels in your yard. Cats dislike the scent of citrus and will stay away. Alternatively, use cayenne pepper, lavender oil or coffee grounds. Place an upside-down carpet runner in open areas where cats like to go potty."

"Oils like citronella, lavender, peppermint, lemongrass and orange tend to repel cats when they smell them and are nontoxic. To make a homemade solution of these oils, mix one part essential oil with three parts water, recommends VetInfo."

Also found a site that recommends a lot of different solutions: https://thescaredycat.com/

Don't fuck the cat up. It's just an animal doing animal things.

Will not work, cat will just learn to avoid you.

Your best bet is a combination of a movement activated sprinkler and a solar powered ultrasonic speaker. Buy multiple if your yard is huge.

Stick them where the pest go.

Another good remedy is to befriend the cat. Feed it snacks, be nice to it, love on it.

Then when ever it is in your yard. Pick up by neck scruff and hiss. Then put it outside of your yard and give it love.

I wasn't planning on pepper spraying their face. Just a squirt on their fur, but then again that might burn.
I really don't want to hurt them, just stay out of my yard.

Yeah, not trying to be a dick, but put "just a squirt" on your forearm and see how pleasant that is for you. People really underestimate how horrible of an experience getting pepper sprayed is.

As others have said, please don't pepper spray any cats. Cats lick their fur routinely so that would be a terrible idea.

Would definitely make cats think twice. Why would you want to hurt a cat

Aite no pepper spray. Don't have a squirt gun. Hose isn't connected unless I'm watering plants, so the cat would have already run off by the time I try to hose them down.

I may try mint and citrus scents. I'm just worried that would attract bugs now

Wait, you weren't aware if you had pepper spray or not? Also, I don't think bugs are attracted to mint scents

But he's asking if it's okay before he does it. Wouldn't you think that's because he wants to ensure it's not going to cause permanent damage to the cat or be cruel in any way?

Yeah I been saying I don't want to hurt them. Just don't want cat poop landmines on my property.

First time I got some pepper spray I tested it into the air. I immediately realized you seriously need at least 8 feet between you and the intended target unless you want a taste.

Yesterday I found two very old bottles of pepper spray. Also sprayed into the air, but I stayed farther away. Still induced sneezes and pepper sensation in my mouth.
