The configuration of the joycons on the system is too bulky and cumbersome. The "Joycon comfort grip" would be better with a slight angle to them. After all these years, you would think Nintendo would have figured out a controller by now.

It's also too damn heavy and unwieldy in portable mode. When the joycons are used in the normal controller thing they include, it's not bad... well, other than fighting games where it's kinda painful.

The Switch Pro Controller is nearly perfect, with the major issue being the faulty D pad. It's only an issue for 2D games like The Legend of Zelda where a precise 4 directional D Pad is essential.

I virtually never use the Joy Cons anymore, except for the rare circumstance where I play it in handheld mode or playing 2D games like I mentioned before. I agree that the comfort grip thing was poorly designed, but I think the main issue with it was that it wasn't wide enough and that the grips aren't deep enough.

I believe next month, Hori has some awesome looking Joy Cons releasing.

I don't mind the regular Joy Cons, but I'll probably still get these.

Its comfortable enough for me to play it for a few hours. Big improvement over my original 3ds which would make my hands ache after even short game sessions.

I've had the opposite happen.
Then again had trouble with the guitar for guitar hero and was great with the small plug in one for the DS games. So IDEK about my hands tbf.

The switch is just big enough to be kinda a pain for me, and since we were never allowed to dock it and the doc went through who knows what (not my switch technically) I don't even know if the dock works. I've always had to play in handheld mode.

I love playing the Switch in tv mode so I can have each hand just doing its own thing. Do I want to stretch one arm? I can! Do I want to let one arm dangle off the couch? I can! Do I want to literally play with one arm behind my back? I can!

I never like asymmetrical joysticks.

idk, not sure if I ever had any problems with the 3DS even with extended play. Out of curiosity, what do you think caused your hand pain?

The size and weight is a nuisance. However, when I use the portable stand, the image quality doesn't look as nice. Damn these first-world problems!

At that point it's just the Wii all over again.

I imagine he's referring more to the width and poor weight distribution. It's stupidly large for a handheld. It's even wider than the Gamegear.

The Wii still had a cord between the two pieces. I dont recall there being a dual wireless option but I could be mistaken.

GC has a good controller. Replicas can be used on the Switch. But I agree if you have the standard controllers attached to the console it isnt as nice to use.
