Taking a pill for an "upper"

Taking a pill to make you work faster/harder

Taking a pill for you name it. What is up with this drug culture/pill culture we have? I go to the doctor because I want check out some shoulder pain or wrist pain and reasons for it and they prescribe me 3 kinds of pills. I'm not putting those damn capsules in my mouth!

I mean I'm no hippie homeopath remedy kinda guy either but there's gotta be a better way than putting all these weird different colored tablets into your body.

All of those weird different colored tablets are just condensed ingredients made of things that aren't pill shaped. They're shaped like that so you can easily swallow them.

It's just medicine.

Try to keep up now.

Drugs have active ingredients that help ameliorate certain pharmacological issues.

Said active ingredients are typically best served in pill form, since the average patient can't give IVs and America doesn't like suppositories.

We done here?

Whenever I get a really strong headache or fever I just drink a lot of water and make sure to rest/sleep (I usually end up "sweating out the sickness" away anyway) but I wouldn't take a tylenol.

I hear about people unable to sleep so they take that one drug, I think ambien or melatonin pills or something. And as someone who also has trouble sleeping I know better than to rely on those and try to have a lifestyle change to better improve my sleep cycle. Maybe eat foods with melatonin like cherries.

I don't know why or when or if I've always disliked pills but I'm wondering why others also don't dislike these pills that we really don't know anything about and just blindly trust our doctor/the pharmaceutical industry.

Agreed I hate it.

One day my ear hurt and see doctor and doctor just give me pill and never check my ear. I eat the pill and my ear still hurts

Next day I meet another doctor this time he check my ear and give me some kind liquid in my ear and next day my ear not hurt anymore.

Sorry about that grammar and English

Pills aren't usually the method of choice for ear issues. Drops work better.

Had misshapen ear canals when I was a kid, got ear infections all the time.

Pills worked for pain, but drops were how the antibiotics were delivered.

So obviously pills aren't the catch-all. If you get pinkeye you get topical ointment.

But it's pretty fucking hard to put ointment on my large intestine, which is why I've been taking pills for my colitis since Clinton was in office.

Headaches and migraines? Eat less sugar, more vitamins and minerals from better food. Taking apple cider vinegar also helps, acidifies the stomach so you can properly digest food to absorb nutrients, support good bacteria, maintain appetite, suppress hunger, regulate insulin, and eliminate GERD/acid reflux.
Better sleep? Lower stress, eat less sugar and caffeine, don't drink caffeine anytime 10 hours or less before you sleep.
Better energy for day-to-day life? Get better sleep, eat better food, do some exercise.

It all boils down to diet and some exercise... doesn't matter if you lift weights or walk, it's all beneficial.

Don't really need pills unless you wanna supplement things like potassium, magnesium, zinc, D3, K2, etc.
