Most 9-5 jobs pay less than 6 figures but the majority of these people are saying they're fine grossing in $60K a year (though majority make much less than that). But they dont realize that they have to do these boring and mundane tasks 5 days 40 hours a week for the next 30 years if they want to retire with social security and pension.... But just fucking imagine being able to only enjoy your life on the weekends for 2 days per week and slaving yourself 5 days a week just to pay your bills and survive.

I've come to conclude that this isnt the way to go about enjoying life and that you actually have to figure out ways to earn multiple streams of income that nets you more money in a MONTH than your 9-5 job does in a YEAR. I feel like you shouldnt slave yourself for 30 years and retire at 60 or 65 which at that point then you can enjoy life, but then you have maybe about 10 or so years left to live. Probably even less than that. I think the 9-5 job is just there for people who really have no choice but to work to survive in life, but for others that will be an opportunity to build capital to venture on other projects that will help them escape their 9-5 job. You can still build your retirement without a 9-5 job, but i think health insurance and whatnot will be a bit more expensive than if you were employed at a company.

most jobs in the US are designed to keep you busy and feeling like that's what you have to do to survive and be a "contributing" member of society

Almost every job I've ever had is about 4 hours of actual work and 4 hours of trying to look busy.

Get a "real job" like a restaurant worker.

I'd serve the customers so fast, chew their food for them, clean their plates, have their conversations and have the table set up for the next guest, that their meals would only take 5 minutes so I'd still only be busy for 4 hours.

>99% of people who have ever lived haven't had "financial freedom." 9-5 jobs weren't invented to prevent the freedom, they were created by labor negotiating with management over the course of decades and getting it to be the standard.

way better than being a dirt farming serf or railroad working back in the day.

I think you're working the wrong jobs. You have to find a job with some great perks even though the work itself might not be rewarding. Plenty of companies create a culture that is waiting to help you out.

Like, say you need money to put a down payment on a house but dont have it. Find a company that you can just move some money around that they'll never miss and use that money to put a down payment on the house. Enjoy your new dream home!

Or say you're a lonely dude and you're just trying to get your rocks off. Ask a coworker for a beej. If they're really a company man or woman they'll be happy to help out another employee. If they initially say no, then just politely remind them about the perks of helping and the consequences of not.

Perhaps you've made a mistake at home by marrying a horrible bitch and not getting a prenup beforehand. Well brother, you job is there to help you on that one too. Ask your boss how they made their problems disappear. They'll be more than happy to share the number of their travel agent that took their wife on a trip so amazing that she totally ran away and broke all contact with friends and family because she's probably living it up so much in a location she won't share. Now your marriage problems are over!
