I just bought a 2007 Chrysler town and country mini van 4wd, for $940!!

EVerything works including the air conditioning (Well), it's missing one set of chairs in the back, but still has 2 (and I'll be tacking them out). I paid by check, and will have it inspected tomorrow, but I drove it around and it sounds fine (just doing the inspection to be extra careful).

Did a full Vin history report etc, and everything looks good. It does have a loose right rear view mirror, which is super easy to fix (could do it myself but since I'm having it inspected I'll probably have them fix it..doubt it will be more then $20.

Just about 20 mpg on freeway, which isn't great, but...it has tons of space in the back for sleeping (with the last set of chairs removed at least). I'll probably get a mattress to put back there. It has one way windows (totally opaque from outside) as well, making sleeping inside much easier (not for the front windows but I could put heat reflectors on the windows up there easy).

This will be perfect for trips, and it was so cheap. It does have 220k miles though, but the blue book on the car with those miles is still 3200-4800, or $3000 average, so still a great deal.

Really happy, though I will not be completly relaxed till I have it fully inspected. Honestly anything needed to be fixed other then a brand new engine would still cost less then the value of the car.

Not really, I don't need to do much other then remove the last 2 seats (which will give me over 6 feet of mattress space) and get a nice mattress back there.

Probably not going to do the generator and just go with 2 extra batteries (so I can have 6 hours each of laptop time + 3 base from laptop for 15 hours between recharging).

Means I won't be able to run my ps4 in the car, but....I can just do that at the library etc instead and don't really feel the need to play it in the car right now.

$940? Are you sure everything is mechanically sound (transmission mainly). That's a hell of a deal if so.

I've always wanted a 70s conversion van all pimped out with a bed so I could live in it. Lol

Yeah, drove it back on the freeway. The radio doesn't work but it has a usb jack, so I can just play music off that. AC works great (my normal car needs to have the freeon replaced which is like $250).

I do think one of the rims might be damaged a bit, I'll have the mechanic look at it tomorrow. Then there is the right rear mirror, that needs to be bolted on, but yeah, it looks like a really good deal. It drives very nice, transmission is automatic and worked fine, the steering is smooth and easy (doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it).

I used to know a bit about cars but now, not much, so I'll have an expert look at it, but from my limited knowledge, it looks like in great shape. I did the Vin number searches on it, no accidents or recalls reported etc.

So yeah, won a minor lottery here I think, he said I was the first to respond and 20 more did before I got there, and I believe him.

Finally had it inspected, but get the feeling they didn't actually do a full inspection.

Anyway it looks good other then an oil leak. They were crowded and didn't want to do the visual inspection part I think (which was supposed to be free), they charged for a diagnostic, and were done in 20 minutes. Was not thrilled about the customer service.

I used midas in Olympia for the last 3 years, but this place well, I had an apointment for 1pm, got there and they were like (we had an emergency, can you wait till 3?). I was far away (drove there because I trusted midas) so I decided to just kick it and walk around.

Come back 20 minutes later and they are done, and the person who inspected it is already gone so I couldn't ask any questions, nothing was wrong with the issue I had (and I could have been told that right away if someone had just looked at it) and they listed a bunch of....optional repairs as if they were mandatory (to prevent an oil leak, which you can just top off every once in awhile, versus spending 1-2k total for the repairs they suggested).

This was not at all like my old midas, but oh well, it was far away anyway so it's better this way, I'll just find a new place closer to me.

Anyway other then needing to have the oil changed more often (probably every 6 months or so, and topping it off regularly, it seems like it is in good shape and nothing jumped out at them at least. So great deal over all, total with licensing, inspection etc was about $1400.....so still a really freaking good deal.
