He admitted to wire fraud conspiracy and said he acted with an unidentified accomplice to create a fake website and dole out legal advice and presented themselves as "qualified lawyers, providing legal services" Judge Valerie Caproni asked him in court "Are you an attorney?" He replied "No, your honour" That didn't stop him from posing as a fictional lawyer named "Eric Pope" and claiming to be a graduate of New York University Law School. U.S Attorney Geoffrey Berman said Lambert presented himself as a prominent new york attorney with a law degree from an elite law school as he's NEVER been to law school as well. Lambert admitted it and will face time in prison for his crimes. He pretended to have 15 YEARS of experience in corporate and patent law and that he earned a finance degree from the University of Pennsylvania He carried out the scam between 2016 and 2018 while living in North Carolina He gained notoriety in 2015 for founding Students for Trump leading up to the 2016 election with Campbell University classmate, Ryan Fournier They frequently appeared on television and gave interviews in between their studies and running the twitter account where they shared pics of women in swimsuits and young men at political events They distanced themselves from Lambert after the arrest and said "We are highly disappointed in his actions and fully condemn the path which John Lambert decided to take after departing from Students for Trump's executive board" He agreed not to appeal any sentence of 21 months or less in prison and must forfeit 46,654 The site is now owned by Turning Point Action.
