I am restarting to play Breath of the Wild again and I often play both at home and work. I have most of the relevant Amiibos for it but it would be nice to have some sort of scanner or outpulse that sends out the signal or what ever it is that an Amiibo does.

Has anyone figured out a way to use something in place of the amiibos themselves?

yeah, i looked into it once, and I'm pretty sure you have to buy a chip (think it's an nfc chip) and you have to configure it.

You can actually make them yourself. There are sites that offer the codes. You can pick up NFC cards (i prefer them over stickers) on Amazon or eBay and scan the code onto the sticker. That way you just have a stack of 18 cards instead of having to carry around 18 amiibos. I had to use an old android phone to scan the cards. Can't remember which it was, but it cost me $40 on eBay.

You could disassemble your amiibos, the functional part in the base is about as thick as a piece of paper.
