I'm just screwing around with some mods atm. You can never have enough mods.

Edit: Regular Skyrim, not Special edition.

I don't remember what it's called, but this mod adds like 100+ spells to the game.

It's been a while since I've played, so I can't recall the name

Apocalypse Spells and Ordinator are the two I always recommend.

The best Skyrim mod is the one where you uninstall it and play an actual good game!

Oh I forget the name but for a spellcaster theres a good one that increases spellpower by 1% effectiveness/damage per skill rank

its mainly helpful for increasing the power of destruction magic later in the game

Your PC specs are kinda important to recommend something

I can run Crysis. Does that help?

But for real:
i7 7700k
GTX 1070
16 GB RAM

My mobo has RGB lighting so everything runs 300% better and I've added some RGB lighting to my screen which has quintupled the refresh rate so take that as you will.

But there are mods to add lewd physics. Gotta have those jiggly hairs.

Ordinator is currently in the load order. It is soooooo freaking fun.

I like adding more NPCs in general.

An alternate start mod like Random AS or Live Another Life.
Obis for more bandits.
Immersive Patrols and Immersive NPCs, Interesting NPCs for more activity in town and on the roads.
Apocalyspe spell pack and Forgotten Magic for new spells. The spells in Forgotten Magic level up as you use them and you can assign perks to them in the MCM.
Umm, you're on Oldrim, so Epic Gameplay Overhaul if you can find it. Apollodown's mods were fantastic, but he pulled all his mods and quit back 2016.

I've seen Skyrim with some good lewd mods. You should just use those, make vids with them and get rich from people giving you monies!

Darker nights
Makes it near impossible to see at night

This with the Roadside lanterns mod(can't remember the correct name), unless you really want immersion, but then there would still be random NPCs walking in the dark.

Immersive NPCs.

What I liked about the Darker Nights mod is it made the nights feel realistic. I just hated some of the light textures cause they werent designed to be placed in such dark spaces.
But the early morning sunrise looks so great with the mod. Also Torches are actually useful. I just wish the made things slightly brighter (can still barely see)

Ok. So first... Um, lets make this a list.

0. Respect the mod loader. And mod load order. ESPECIALLY if you attempt to use mods that are incompatible, or which are NORMALLY incompatible but are compatible with a third mod installed that fixes said incompatibility.

1. Find the latest of the unofficial patch mods that just fix, well, BUGS. Last I checked, a good number of mods actually REQUIRE these unofficial patches.

2. You want to search around a little on the best graphical mods that don't change the game at all. By best, I mean look at the screenshots and go with what you think is best. Try to avoid conflicts, but don't be afraid to actually experiment with ones that supposedly DO conflict. You might get some pretty cool plant life out of them (especially with ones that modify the grass and non-specific plant life). Just make an early game save in the middle of the field outside Whitehall or whatever its called, and play around with some of them using a mod-loader of some sort, until you get it looking like how YOU want it to look like.

3. Now you can get to the part where you actually mod the game mechanics! I'm sure people in this topic have suggested some. Feel free to mix and match any that are not outright incompatible (though some such ones do have side-mods that may make them compatible with each other).

4. Play the game. Mod it some more. Play the game. MOD IT MORE! Eventually, break the game. Maybe before or after the main story arc is done. But yeah, you will break it eventually with your excessive mods.

5. Uninstall everything but the core unofficial patches, and start the modding cycle again with a new game! Or maybe, just go for a small handful of really ridiculous mods and go for a quick story-only playthrough for amusement with some stupidity like having a minigun or something. I'm sure someone has made a minigun mod by now.

6. Eventually just say "whatever" and go with whatever mods make elves actually look beautiful, and just stare at your lovely elven character of whichever gender as they generally be fabulous and do things fabulously.

BECAUSE ELVES.

I have never gotten through a single quest line because of this. Also because they kinda suck but also because of this.
