Actual Chinese food was not successful here so they bastardized it and created a extremely unhealthy fried version that is the modern Chinese Buffet and most Chinese restaurants in USA. So sure China does not have the fortune cookies, but they do not have the food either. So it is clearly a American tradition to have fortune cookies with overly fried foods covered in thick sugary and salty seasonings ^_^. ... Copied to Clipboard!
