Hold ZR to Synergize attacks with AI players

Or Press A when the prompt appears to synergize attacks with other players. Might need to communicate with your son to do those. These attacks are the most powerful and you'll get more as the game continues. It's when two characters join their attacks together for bonus damage.

Outside of that the only other thing to keep note is that some characters are better at health damage, stagger damage (think of it like a shield health bar for tougher enemies) and crowd control. Play around with different ones to see what you like.

Apparently Ms Marvel is one of the best characters in the game too.
