The Calm Lands. Which is funny because that's where a lot of summoners give up their journey in the story. I'm feeling the urge to play something else now because the amount of stuff I can do now is overwhelming...

Also, tons of games on my radar to play, and I had to just get immersed in this RPG...

FFX, RE2 (though truth be told I might jusgt come back to this later since playing the same story over and over gets a little boring), MM2, Smash, FE: Three Houses (I own but haven't played it yet; figured might as well because I still had 2 vouchers), Spyro (Sept), DQ11 (Sept)

You can only walk in a straight line for so long before you get bored. By the time you get the freedom to walk around you're already done with the game.

The Monster Arena, Chocobo Racing, and the Summoner Duel are all at the Calm Lands so yea it is a lot but they are all worth it.

And if anything, just do one or a few things, then advance the story a little and then do more optional stuff afterwards.

Maybe, actually... maybe this will be a good place to come back to later. It's not like I've never experienced the game past this before. I've gotten up to right before you enter Sin.

If I come back being fresh on the game that could make it more fun.

People are talking about 3 Houses enough that I want to try to get into that sooner or later so...

The Calm Lands onwards were my favorite parts, the story REALLY starts to unravel and pick up and Spiras citizens finally starts turning on the after being exposed for the frauds they are by Yunas team

Zanarkand right after Mt. Gagazet is straight up my favorite place in the game too. That fucking serene music as you head into what very well might be the conclusion of the game and all the Revelations with the trial and Yunalesca. Just tops.

My first real playthru I quit right at the airship fight with sin near the end of the game

Finally played thru 10 years later and beat the game and realized how close I was the first time.
