Atlas Shrugged.

It's just a long ranty manifesto, wrapped with a thin framing story that wasn't even relevant when the book was written.

Atlas Shrugged.
Rand doesn't seem to be taken seriously by academics.

Fountainhead and Anthem are great "highschool" books.
Atlas Shrugged is just overrated and bloated, and I seriously doubt its crusaders have actually read the damn thing.

Most of the shit high school literature class assigned me.

Catcher in the Rye
To Kill a Mockingbird
Etc

None of them were bad but very overrated. I did enjoy Frankenstein quite a bit.

Add The Fountainhead too. Anyone over 19 who is into Ayn Rand's ideas is batshit crazy.

I'm not into her at all, but I think there's value in hearing political views that are so blatantly contrary to what is considered normal.

To each their own but I thought To Kill a Mockingbird was great. I agree with you about Catcher in the Rye.

Catcher in the Rye

I don't know if there was some deeper meaning that I missed, but I got little out of it and remember virtually nothing.

Everything Catcher in the Rye does, Tietam Brown does better.

The Wikipedia description alone makes it sound more interesting.

I liked Catcher in the Rye. The modern ripoff of it, King Dork, was also entertaining.

I think that Great Expectations is a terrible novel
