I'd love to be a screenwriter or a director. In the context of the dream, I was already working for Hollywood.

It was one of those weird dreams where your thoughts and opinions within the dream are exactly what they would be in real life. I was disgusted at the proposal, but also concerned that I wasn't in a position to turn down the offer. Naturally, my thoughts also drifted to the likelihood that someone else would remake the film if I refused.

It just kinda left a bad feeling in my gut to think there's an actual possibility that someday someone may choose to remake The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. There's no way an update could ever match the original. Even if it was a good movie in its own right, the only ones who would say it was better would be people who never watch a film older than themselves and assume that newer films are better because they're edgier or higher definition.

They remade True Grit, 3:10 to Yuma, and The Magnificent Seven. Who's to say they won't remake The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly someday?

You know, I've never seen GBU. I've seen the other two but I've been trying to find time for the finale for like a year lol.

One does not simply replicate Lee Van Cleef.

That was the primary focus of the dream.

And, yeah, that was a damn good episode. Van Cleef's character was the one who injured Marshal Micah Torrance's arm. If The Rifleman ever receives a film adaptation, they should have a wanted poster for Dan Maury with Lee Van Cleef's likeness on it.

Remaking TGTBATU would be a crime against humanity.

If the film were remade, I think the following would be likely:

(keep in mind, not all of these things are bad)

- there would be a female character added in a prominent or semi-prominent role
- Blondie would have a friend and ally who was black
- said ally would replace Tuco in the role of helping Blondie swindle people on both sides of the Civil War (if that subplot was not dropped altogether)
- the Confederate Army would be invariably villainous
- Tuco would be played as a less stereotypical and more sympathetic character (or replaced with a white guy)
- Blondie would be more murderous so that people get the point that the Good is an ironic title
- the ending would see less suspense and more action -- likely with Angel Eyes having backup so that there would be a higher body count
- the film would be cut by twenty minutes

This.

I just don't see a need to remake any of the major Western movies unless you're going to do some kind of major update or a different take on it.

I hadn't yet accepted the offer. I was debating over whether or not I wanted to take it.

Your dreams are realistic af.

If it had been my dream, I'd have received a death threat warning me not to accept and a death threat warning me to accept and then both would turn out to be from Zebras and they would both try to trample me and the dream would forget about the movie completely and the Muppets would show up or something.

Um...

Last week, I had a dream where I participated in a game where you catapult yourself at a tyrannosaurus and try to land in the safety zone behind it. I ricocheted off of its cheek and landed safely in spite of its attempt to snap at me. Afterward, I said to myself, "It's time to wake up. You're not going to do any better than that."

Some of my dreams are really, really out there.

That's so on point that I'm 100% certain a remake and all of that will happen.

Wonder how they'd redo the wounded and dying Confederate youth ?

One of the most humane scenes in the movie.
