That's more dire. It's more generous than it used to be. The purge monster lets topics live longer now.

Nope now it's based on topic count. So once you hit a threshold it'll archive everything until it's under that amount. Hence why there usually aren't more than 24 pages of topics. It's better for slower boards as topics will stay longer but for faster boards topics will get archived/purged even if everything was posted in the same day.

Yeah, you can see the topics no longer are cut at the exact hour point, but drift off longer.

For instance today the last topic in the list should be (change your board time to UTC)

and then there are approximately 50 topics after that now. So the purge is less strict now for CE. (the numbers chosen for the new purge/archive, at least for the 2 day number, were probably calibrated off of CE I'd guess)
