Im replaying MGS2 and Im trying to get all of the dog tags, but whenever I stick someone up they either just stand there forever or they tell me to just shoot them already and tell turn around and start shooting me. Whats the proper way of getting their dog tag? (I do have thermal goggles also)

Also when I have my gun pointed at them, how do I not shoot a bullet?

Give them a warning shot in leg/arm.

Think you hold down the aim button...or the shoot button slightly and not release?

Never mind just figured out that if you go in front of them and point the gun in their face theyll give you the dog tag.

Also its been six years since Ive played this game. My save data shows 1/23/2013 last save made. Man time flies fast.

Im going for the platinum trophy after six long years lol.

I remember once I beat it, I went straight to MGS3 and was like Ill get the platinum for it once Im done with MGS3 and Peace Walker.

No joke, you point the gun at their head, go in front of them and then aim it at their groin, theyll flip out and do a little dance before dropping their tags

Also why doesnt my Grip level stay at 3?

I got Snake to level 3 grip. Saved the game. Then when I got back it was back to level 1. So I thought maybe I forgot to save, so I got him to level 3 again and saved, but it goes back to level one when I start up the game again.

Whats the point of leveling it up anyways? I got through the game fine without doing so.

I think to get all of the dog tags. You need Snakes grip level to at least level 2 because some guards dog tags toward the end of his play through are only accessible by hanging on a ledge.

Yeah youre supposed to aim at their face or groin in First Person View. On harder difficulties you will get some tough guys who will require a warning shot to give up their dog tag. IIRC, the warning shot doesnt even need to hit them; it can just whizz by them.

also, Im confused about what you were doing? I also remember that you could continuously hold them up if they start slowly dropping their arms because their AI thinks that youre not there anymore.

My last save for this game is 08/25/03. It's just a little younger than the save for Ace Combat 4, which was in May of that year. They are the oldest saves I still have and I'm not sure why I have them at this point
