I got more of a rush from beating Sigrun than I did from any one boss in any of the Souls games and the like

Great world building and game mechanics but yeah I did find some of the levels drag on a bit in the last third. Especially the ice world.

Having the same 4 types of puzzle obstacles every 5 minutes sure is great world design

How is the world design better than Bloodborne? It basically have the Dark Souls 2 world design where every level is a branch off of a central hub, but you don't suddenly take an elevator up into the sky and land in a lava castle.
