Do they have any need for the concept of gender? Because in that case, traditional gender roles (man = breadwinner, woman = maintains home conditions) remain tied to biological sex, thus rendering gender redundant. Sure you might still get that girl who likes the color blue but it would not be relevant enough to introduce an entirely new concept, rather basic terminology like tomboy would suffice.

This means that any traditionally religious society may not even recognize the entire concept of gender. This is a thought that occurred to me and I wonder if you guys can find a flaw in this deduction.
