Hippos lives pretty brutal lived and fight to maintain their breeding rights on a regular basis. Those teeth make for gnarly slashing weapons. You're just controlling which direction they move in. You'll get one good charge out of them. The hippo would give that same good charge then be a vicious beast in the middle of the battle.
