Missed it by half a metre. It just climbed out of a hedge and ran across the road in front of me.

One of those moments where you realise that no matter how safe or how aware you drive, there is always the possibility that some anomaly will happen to fuck you up.

Uh...why are there deers in Glasgow? Don't deers usually live in the countryside?

Of course, I'm not a zoologist.

Deer are basically everywhere in the US. It's a borderline infestation. They need to loosen up hunting laws before it gets out of hand, I legitimate see one close to the side of the road here 3-4 times a month, close enough that i'm anxious one is gonna jump in front of my car.

My brother clipped a deer pretty rough on a 60 m.p.h. road (he was actually going 70) one night going out to Illinois. There's a decently-sized forest area along the way, and he said the deer abruptly jumped right in front of him. He swerved, but still bumped it with the side of his car, sending it flying off the road. He told me later that he was worried that his last word might have been "SHIT" because it's all he could think to say.
