Got a buy 2 get 1 free coupon at gamestop so I decided to maximize the amount I could save. (The free game has to be equal to or the lowest price of the three games)

All these are games I'm currently interested in, and cost around $50

Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Octopath Traveler
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
Fire Emblem: Three Houses*
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild**

*I have to wait for a pre-owned copy to show up since the coupon only applies to those.
** I already have this for the Wii U, along with all the DLC, but having the game on the go is very tempting

The next group are games I've heard great things about but I haven't played any of the earlier games in the series to gauge how I'll like the newest ones. These also cost around $50.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Super Mario Party
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
Mario Maker 2
God Eater 3
Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee*

*Never really got into Pokemon Go though, so I'm not sure how I'll handle the changed mechanics.

And there's also lots of games under $40, but I really want to maximize the savings I'll get from the coupon.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

For the first group, I would go with Mario Odyssey, XC2, and then either FE: TH or BotW.

For the second group, the first 4, I guess. The first 3 are kind of like the others in the series. But since you haven't played them, it might be more fun. For Kart, more characters, stages, and good online (from what I can remember). For Party, better than the other newer entries, so more like the older ones, I think. For Smash, PLENTY of characters, and I like a certain scene in it. And while I havent played it, I would think Mario Maker 2 in pretty awesome. I heard good things about Lets Go, and havent heard anything about God Eater 3...

I own a fair few of those games, if I were to say what I thought would be the top choices..
-Mario maker 2 (provided you have Switch online, it's a harder sell without that imo)
-Mario Odyssey (love the game to death, my favourite 3D Mario by a long shot, sorry Galaxy 2)
-Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (really fun ARPG, I spent many hours happily killing things, the game really comes alive when you master the flash guard mechanics)
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (I like kart racers and this is one of the best, has a ton of tracks to play too)
-Xenoblade chronicles 2 (If you don't mind a slow start and are prepared to put the hours in this is a fun, if flawed JRPG)

I also own Smash Ultimate, Breath of the wild and have played the demo of GE3, while I do think they are all okay/good games I wouldn't recommend any of them over the list above

The most reliable way, and how I got mine, is to renew your Pro Rewards membership; but they sometimes give those out randomly to free members as a special event. They also sometimes do these as a storewide sale.

It only applies to pre-owned games though, but you can use it online.

In that order. I loved XC2, and if you like XC1 its more of the same, although arguably better.

BOTW I loved, despite not getting on with other Zelda games gameplay wise, despite loving everything else about them.

MO I really liked but never finished, and I liked the other 3D Marios too.
