So if you're eating chips and soda in the store and you receive a call about a family emergency, are you gonna actually go to the register and wait in line?

As weird as it sounds, unless there are specific samples available, no one should be eating in a grocery store wandering the aisles.

The worst is people who get cherries or sunflower seeds and leave the pits/shells everywhere as they shop

What if it turns out, once they get to the register, that they don't have the money?
Or they choke on the food in the store, then decide that they want to sue?
Or they spill, then slip on said spill, then sue because they slipped?
Or they take a bite, then decide it's not worth buying?
Or they eat, then hide the empty wrapper behind some other ****?
or eat things that are priced by weight?
Or open something that can cause an allergy? Like Peanuts or Shellfish Sushi?

Honestly, I think it's rude regardless of the probability of an emergency.

Heck, I'd consider it rude even if they paid for it first and then still walked around eating it

Sometimes if I'm doing grocery shopping right after the gym and I'm bout to pass out from thirst I'll drink a Powerade or whatever before I buy it.

Honestly it's fine to pick up a soda out of the cooler and drink it as long as you eventually pay for it. It's not shoplifting/theft until you take it out the door (or leave it behind without paying on your way out)

The closest I get to this is getting a drink, then getting on line to pay. I wouldn't drink before that because I know it would make managers and the employees anxious. (is he gonna pay? Is he gonna stash it somewhere?)

And eating fruit before you pay? Never.

A Texas woman was banned from her local Walmart after police say she ate half a cake and refused to pay for the missing portion.

Wichita Falls Police were called to a Walmart on Greenbriar Road just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday after receiving calls that a woman walked around the store eating half of a cake and refusing to pay for the whole item, Department Spokesman Officer Jeff Hughes told the Wichita Falls Times Record News.

The suspect, who has not been identified, entered the bakery section of the store and proceeded to eat half of a cake while walking through the aisles, WWOR reported citing Wichita Falls Police Department.

Once at the register, the woman demanded half off because she was only buying half a cake. Police say she refused to pay for the missing half of the cake despite eating it on her way to checkout.

She ultimately paid for the whole cake once police arrived and was barred from the store for theft.

A similar incident took place at another Wichita Falls Walmart earlier this year when another woman was banned after police say she rode around the parking lot in an electric cart while drinking wine from a Pringles can, Fox 46 report.

Old fucks that still write checks as if it were still 1950. Half want to have a conversation with the clerk, all of them are slow as shit and need to put on glasses to see what they're writing. Then god help you if the asshole didn't hear or see the total right and then make a mistake and have to write another one. I wish all grocery store would ban checks. One of my local ones did a couple of years ago to which I expressed my approval of to the clerk when I noticed because the old hag in front of me tried to use a check and got told they don't accept them anymore.

Gonna go eat a full meal in pajamas at my local artisanal /international bazaar. I'm on a first name basis with the owner, the butchers, the affineur, and the guy who just stands around drinking the wine samples he's supposed to hand out.
