Humans are social creatures. Do people really talk about "fitting in" past age 18 though? Never seen or heard anyone past that age talk about that lol. By that age you (should) know right and wrong, and the types of people you mesh with and don't mesh with.

I don't. There are 95% of people who won't like me due to my natural character! The good thing is knowing that and being happy. But some haven't matured yet to that state.

True, but that's different from the topic at hand, which is about fitting in. Measuring up can have all kinds of professional implications, whereas fitting in is more of a social thing.

I suppose theres also situations where a person doesnt or wont fit in with a certain kind of work environment, but that's more the higher ups worrying about other people fitting in and less about that individual person.

You'd be surprised. There can be all kinds of stupid office drama and politics concerning normal employees even in menial jobs. It's mindblowing.

Believe me I know, been in a few of those situations. The easiest solution for me was to simply not get involved at all. If someone tries to drag you into office gossip or anything, just flat out tell them you're not interested or dont care. Remove yourself from the situation in a way that no one thinking about it will be thinking of you. Much less problems arise that way, and it's a lot less stressful to boot.
