This is what I am about to do honestly.

Back in 2016, there was a huge group of people I spent time with. Our group had around 20 or so members. We would get together and play video games, go on "adventures", and do a bunch of stupid stuff for fun. Over time, the group slowly disbanded. Most of us still hang around each other but not as often and usually in much smaller groups. Now, two people of this previous group called M and J, have been desperately trying to keep everyone together. Everyone is kind of sick of it including me.

M and J are the most immature members of the former group. They would be the only one to suggest the most idiotic activities like vandalizing houses with toilet paper, playing tag/hide and seek in Wal-Mart, or ding dong ditching. Please keep in mind we're all in our 20s. Nobody wants to do that. Nobody ever wanted to do that. It's either that or "Let's play Smash/Mario Party all day" with them. Another activity nobody really wants to do. At least, not as often as they want. It doesn't help that they become really competitive and butthurt in Smash especially when I win since they're really bad at the game.

These days, none of the others invite M and J when we do stuff. When M and J invite the others, they always decline. I'm the only one who doesn't out of everyone but that's probably going to change. I cannot stand the immaturity of them anymore. I know how much it saddens them how everyone else kind of stopped hanging out but I can't blame the others. These two are content with spending the rest of their lives doing this same exact stuff. They even said it themselves. "I could see us in our fifties playing video games and getting kicked out of Wal-Mart". Hm, I wonder why everyone else said they can't stand those two anymore.

Plus, M can't really be around girls because he freezes up when they talk to him. J is most likely a secret racist deep down. He often makes jokes like "Where's *insert name of black person*?" when the lights are out or he'll talk about how much he idolizes nazis.

A few nights ago, they were talking about how they miss the big group we had and how much it saddened them that everyone doesnt spend time with them anymore. Once Im out, their days of spending time with friends will pretty much be over unless they try to meet new people which probably wont happen knowing them.

I think they know that as well which is why they tend to spam my phone with texts, calls, and voicemails to see if I want to hang out with them. Ive been spending time with them because it makes them happy but it doesnt make me happy at all. Id rather be doing something else but us getting together is the only thing they look forward to these days.

I suppose Id rather not hurt their feelings.

One thing to have a lot of friends, another to have a contrast circle or group.

Great for those who have it working out. I found people inevitably start talking shit about each other. Like maybe it's fun in the teenage years, but later on it's like forced filler to make life "interesting".

If you have a bad feeling about those two, you don't want to wait until you start wishing you split sooner.

I guess in everyone's moral compass, you don't really want to abandon someone knowing what path they could take after, but at the same time, you can't force them to be any different. You're just holding J back from his KKK and neo-nazi enrollment.
