Anyone bother doing this? I keep telling myself that THIS time I do all of the sidequests in FFX but I never end up doing it. I have gotten close to the end but have never beaten the game for that matter.

Who is worth gettting? Anyone in Luca? Since I just finished the story bit in there.

I just do enough to get Wakka's ultimate weapon, then pretend BB doesn't exist.

The last time I played through FFX, I said the same thing about this being the time I would give Blitzball a chance. Played the mandatory game and that changed my mind pretty quick.

it's super duper easy if you can get wedge, nimrook etc

wedge and tidus can carry u hard tho

Okay so right now I have

Tidus
Vilucha (yes I went back to Besaid by walking there, better than waiting and having to fight Dark Valfor later)
Zev Ronso
Shaami
Wedge (will probably replace with Linna when I reach Macalania)
Miyu (definitely replacing with Nimrook when his contract expires... whenever that is)

Also I find it hilarious how the "hard" team the Al Bhed Psyches keeps signing all of the failure Aurochs I immediately released as free agents.

Right as you unlock the mode, hardest teams are
Ronso because their ungodly stamina and tackle strength, and the third best goalie at the time, second best of the defaults be level 10 or so
Al Bhed, even point blank Jecht Shot can miss

Goers have good shot stats, kilika has like one good player but they can tackle and shoot and their team stats average higher than most default aurochs. The guado team is only annoying when they recruit free agents, they do have some strong skills out the gate but if you got a better goalie or the defender position people, you're usually good.

Only missable recruits are Tidus (can't replace him without losing him forever), that one Al Bhed girl at Macalania... And like one other but I think it's because they get a 99 contract that is always renewed if they aren't automatically signed elsewhere.

I have more fun with Blitzball using the original aurochs. It feels better for story, and Blitz is too easy to break so gimping yourself makes it more entertaining.

recruit brother
he is insanely fast
like faster than the other team
he gets the ball
you swim around in circles with all the team chasing you but unable to catch you
you waste most of the 5 minutes doing this
then you swim to the goal and with no one there to block you only need to worry about the goalie and its pretty much a free point

Part of the reason I want to put effort into Blitz is because Ive seen you can get good spheres for the sphere grid... also its easy to just play it when Im in queue for a different game.

That being said Techcopying is stupid. Also I dont even know how to get Volley Shot to trigger for the enemy because Vilucha cant really learn anything and its one of her key techniques...

It's much easier and faster to get spheres from the arena than playing BB, although it does require you to focus somewhat on the game.

You have to teach her Volley Shot yourself, by triggering it while playing against her and eventually she'll learn it. Or recruit her yourself and equip someone with Volley Shot and techcopy it.

Yeah Im not releasing her... I went all the way to Besaid from Guadosalam to recruit her.

That being said you can get techs from teammates??

Its kind of frustrating tech copying because after a while you can miss key techniques due to the enemies leveling up.

I seem to remember being able to copy your own, but it's been a while since I played X BB so I don't remember that well. The "release them and let them learn it on their own" trick does work though, and I know for a fact that opponents will never use a Volley Shot even if it's equipped.

EDIT: the point of the release trick is that even though the AI never uses it in a game, they'll learn abiltiies pretty quickly from playing others who do have them (as long as they're not playing you), or you can play them and try to trigger it.

late to the thread, but this. i spent hours and hours trying to craft the perfect blitzball team back in the day, and it's just not worth it lol. every game is basically a blowout to the point where it's not even fun. original aurochs fits better story wise, you can unlock one of wakkas overdrives that way, and it's actually a challenge for a while.

then datto gets like 70 speed and you can just pass to him and outswim everyone, or use jecht shot 2 with tidus.

Blitzball is the worst minigame introduced in a FF game, IMO. Its why I never bothered using Wakka past the early game stuff.

Lightning dodging is way worse

At least with Blitz I can kinda mindlessly do it while Im waiting in queue for League or Apex
