DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A RANT AND I'M JUST BLOWING OFF STEAM. (caps)

I get working lunches, so it is what it is, but I can't fucking stand when some stupid fuck comes in and just interrupts and stares at me while I'm eating. I want to say "get the fuck out of my face and go take a damn seat" but I can't do that.

The worst is when they try to be polite and say "Oh, I'm sorry to bother you while you're eating, but...". No, fuck off. I don't care about your pleasantries. Fuck outta here. If you're sorry to bother me while I'm eating, then shut the fuck up and go wait outside until I finish for fucks sake. Just give me five goddamned minutes to choke this food down, Jesus.

You gotta understand, this is an everyday thing so it gets old and I just gotta bitch and moan about my first world problem like an infant every once in while to get it outta my system.

Anyone else have working lunches?

I eat at my desk because I don't really care about being at the breakroom and I just get bored in there.

I don't get annoyed at people asking me about work-related stuff while I'm eating, I just get annoyed at people talking to me at all while I'm eating. Bigger annoyance though is when Guy 3 comes over and tries to start shit with me when I have fucking earbuds in, which is the universal sign for "fuck off"

yeah, happens to me a lot. Especially Saturdays. I work 11 hours, alone, with no scheduled breaks. Guessing at when the downtime will be is super annoying. But even worse is when it's a line of regulars who only want a fucking drink. seriously, you can't wait a couple minutes?

I hate that so much too. At my old place we had a boss would look for you with questions like it didn't matter to him if you were on lunch. I wanted people to say I'm not talking about work while I'm off the clock but I guess they were too afraid to.

I've not really had "working lunches" but at both my current and most recent before this job, I initially started out just eating at my desk in my office, because I'd rather play on my computer and listen to a podcast or something while I eat then be with co-workers--I mean, I generally have liked my coworkers, but I'm paid to be around them for 8 hours, I'd rather not be around them when I'm not being paid, generally. But it would become pretty clear fast that people would come in and bother me, so I ended up eating in my car.

I don't get an official lunch break, despite working 8 hours a day. We work a one man security outfit, which means there is only one guard on duty each shift, so we always have to be at our station in case we are needed.

Well, that's why I usually bring something small, like one of those 1$ mini pizzas from Kroger. I can usually have it eat in like 5 minutes. It's just people seem to have this mutant ability that let's them know when I'm eating. I could set with my thumbs up my ass all day, then right when I go to eat, people will start coming.

Kinda like when you're setting in an empty room and you have to let a raunchy-ass fart, you look around and it's a ghost town, then right when you let the nasty thing rip, someone walks in.
