My ISP upgraded my speeds from 100mbps to 200.
When i tested the LAN speed it would only go up to 100 after the increase. I thought it was the router since I was able to get the 200mbps speed connecting directly through the modem. Looking into the router I found out its LAN speed were only 10/100 so I thought getting a router with 10/100/1000 would allow me to get the full 200, but I just tested and its still hovering at 100. Any suggestions? --- "3rd Best Whiskey in Northern Burma" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvjOu4EzjYg ... Copied to Clipboard!

Im not a networking expert but maybe its autonegotiated a lower speed because reasons. You could try manually setting the speed at 1gb
I dont know how you would do this on your router and i dont know if its even a thing for routers --- Posted with GameRaven 3.5.1 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Is it the ISP router that only has 10/100 capability? And if so, did you replace that router with your own? Or did you connect your own router to that 10/100 router?

If you got the upgraded speed connecting directly to the modem, then there's a good chance it is the router. Although it is unlikely, there's a chance the WAN to LAN throughput is really shitty on both routers. You should be able to do a quick google search to look up what their maximum throughput potential is.

If you got the upgraded speed connecting directly to the modem, then there's a good chance it is the router but this is two routers now the belkin i had is apparently rated at 10/100 so i bought this new one thats 10/100/1000 and im still only getting around 95mbps when speedtesting the wired connection. --- "3rd Best Whiskey in Northern Burma" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvjOu4EzjYg ... CableZL posted...Is the uplink port of your router at 1000/full duplex? It should be somewhere in the router's firmware, possibly on a status page. There's also the possibility that the LEDs on the port are set so that it lights up in a way that indicates 10, 100, or 1000. Cat5e or cat6 would get you the 1000/full duplex LAN speeds --- ...
