Like I really like her and just feel like buying her stuff. But like is this weird? Some friends have been telling me that don't do that until you have been dating a girl for many months instead of a few weeks.

A few weeks seems early. 4-6 months seems better.

Make something. Even if not artistic, the gesture often means more than just buying something. I widdled my girl a good luck charm from a fallen branch in my yard. She loved it.

I literally just used a sharp knife and some sandpaper to make it smooth. Took a while, sure. But I'm no artist. I just thought, I bet she would like this. Believe me it was no work of art. It can work but I'd save jewelry or expensive stuff for later when you've been in the shitter with them. The here and now would be something easy like a t-shirt from her favorite band/TV show or a coffee from her favorite place idk. Small gestures lead to bigger plays for later ;)
