I know I'm late to the game but holy shit! That was brilliant! It wasn't really about action like the MCU. So character driven. Harvey's arc, rachel/bruce/harvey, bruce's arc. Ledger was brilliant. Bale was great. One of the greatest superhero movies I've ever seen. I don't see it mentioned here much.

The whole thing is definitely up there in the elite trilogies. Regardless of what anyone says, Rises isn't bad enough to drag how excellent Begins and The Dark Knight are.

In fact, Rises is what seals the deal of putting TDK trilogy at the top of the superhero movie pyramid. It's quite good imo.

You know what, instead of going into a detailed rant ill just say i had major issues with most everything in the movie. How can the third be so crap next to such solid 1st and 2nd?

Superhero movies didn't really do endings before Rises. I think only Logan and Endgame have done it since.

Just be prepared for a horrible and shitty 3rd film that is equivalent to The Godfather part 3 with The Dark Knight Rises because the 3rd Nolan Batman movie sucks ass.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are epics, but The Dark Knight Rises is a real shit show.

I would not even watch it personally and just keep the first 2 movies untarnished, but if you really want to see it just dont expect much. Honestly if Nolan had not made the 3rd film it would have been better then putting out the garbage part 3 he did.

Anne Hathaway wasn't as memorable as Michelle Pfeiffer, but I thought that she and Tom Hardy (while not carbon copies of their characters from the comics) were more or less fine to good.

I didn't care for the return of the League of Shadows, as they were never really all that interesting to begin with. I also wasn't a fan of giving Talia Bane's origin. Also, anyone who's familiar with the Batman mythos could see that Miranda Tate was Talia.

I'll say this much, Heath Ledger was the MVP of that movie in a way that I really haven't see since.
