Yeah I reinstalled the game recently in anticipation of this, i'll check it out. I give them credit for continuing these free updates after the game has been out for so long.

Ugh

I can't bother with GTA Online anymore. It's always the same shit with a new paint job and the "story" isn't enough to hook me.

I mean, even the name of this casino seems so generic. GTA Online has and always will feel like the Great Value brand of GTA. Moreso than Saints Row or others ever did.

I disagree to an extent, when heists came out, it was a blast and we had a lot of fun with them. Some of the mini games also, like landing the parachuted cars on the targets, and the Tron bikes, were fun also. There's still a solid online population also, and it's constantly getting free additions so it doesn't get entirely stale.

Are the additions free? I was trying to do the Mad Max arena shit, but from what I could tell you had to buy a garage just to get started.

Apparently if you link a Twitch Prime account, you can get the penthouse free.

Most of the "free additions" aren't free at all and require you to buy a property to even initiate the missions let alone "buy" the items. But if they are giving the Penthouse away for free through twitch there is a possibility this time it might actually not cost anything to do the missions at the very least.

Tbf if you get gud none of them cost real money.

No, then it just costs time playing the same shit over and over again.

I haven't paid a cent for GTA Online content, and i have pretty much anything worth having up until the nightclub update.

Maybe that explains why I'm sick of the fucking game and realize how much of the shit is just copy/paste content.

I don't mean to be a doofus, but : Is this update actually opening casino games? Or just missions based around the casino?

I was looking forward to the casino in the first week. Six years later...sheesh.

I figured just missions, but the newswire post says otherwise

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61039/The-Diamond-Casino-Resort-Grand-Opening-July-23rd

If you're looking to dive into the action, the casino floor has a selection of activities to enjoy. Play against the house using Chips in Three Card Poker, Blackjack and Roulette. Slot Machines with a variety of prizes are also at your fingertips, while Inside Track offers a lounge to watch and cheer along with friends as the drama of virtual horse racing unfolds. Spin the Lucky Wheel in the lobby for chips, cash, and clothing or even the new Truffade Thrax supercar that can be found whirling on the podium during opening week. And be sure to check back each week to see what new high-end vehicle can be won. Check Rockstar Support for details and limitations.

Guests looking to push the limits of high-end resort fashion can also choose from the carefully curated rotation of new clothing and accessories in the Casino Store.

Most people who are still playing have more than enough in-game money to buy whatever at this point, although some of these updates do require facilities to be bought.

I've got like 20 million saved up just because I said fuck it to the dumbass Arena Wars update.

I'm not really worried about the cost of this. The start up cost has always been pretty negligible if you actually play the game (especially leading up to updates where they would usually have 2x money payouts)

I just really hope it isn't boring. GTA Online has hit a wall for me since Doomsday Heist. And even the Doomsday Heist it was hard to actually find anyone that would play it on PC.

And that's where I'm fucked.

Back when "Santa money" was being given out I got hundreds of millions. After I already had hundreds of millions of dollars from some Criminal Record (was that the course) glitch that would give you millions every time you raced.......and then when they cleared everyone's money they cleared mine. My buddy who legit only does private sessions never had his money cleared so he bought everything. I didn't.

I fucking loved the hell out of this game but the grind just became too awful. Having all that money meant I could just play the game and have fun. No money, turns into Rooftop Rumble over and over and that just got boring.

Yeah, Rooftop Rumble was neigh unplayable after all the tweaks to the AI and all the weird shit they changed in it. No idea if they ever changed back cause I moved on to just grinding the businesses before I got completely burned out around last September.
