If you don't need the actual game, just download the benchmarking tool. It's not even a tenth the size of the actual game. Also, if it's taking you an entire night to only be halfway, something has clearly gone horribly wrong, BTW.

Yikes, that sounds awful. I would highly recommend downloading the benchmarking tool instead - it's only like 1.8 GB, and includes the character creator.
