Looks cool. Kinda weird she has the same weapons as Shredder. Is that supposed to be his "daughter" he made to fight the turtles and joined them instead

The giant mutant roid strengthed pack of 4 turtles that are loud as hell from both being huge and strong and also loud really needed a 5th member. Why not 6 or 7? I dont think any of the turtles were of other races so add some diversity. Theyre all straight as well. Jusy keep adding turtles.

She was taken in and trained by the Foot, but she was a loyalist to the Foot Clan rather than to Shredder.

It's not like the Turtles have never had a female team member before. April fights in more adaptations than not. The comics had a fox named Alopex. And they'd previously been joined by characters like Venus De Milo (a turtle) and Mona Lisa (a salamander).

It's better to crowd the cast a little bit more than it is to make Mikey a girl (as one canceled cartoon had planned) or kill off one of the Turtles so as to make his spot available.

I will admit that it does annoy me how all-female teams are good, but all-male teams are verboten. That doesn't apply to TMNT, as I'd gladly add a female team member if I were in charge (she probably wouldn't be a turtle), but I dislike how male teams must be integrated and all female teams are allowed to remain as they are.

If The Three Stooges had another reboot, they'd probably become The Four Stooges so that Melissa McCarthy could slap the original three around.

Her design looks cool as hell, but tbh the idea of adding new turtles has always sort of rubbed me the wrong way. Getting identical results out of the ooze makes the turtles seem like less of an anomaly. Like if it's that easy then how come the foot clan hasn't made an army of them?

I mean obviously I'm not a huge superfan or anything, but I liked the idea of other mutants, such as Bebop and Rocksteady, or Tokka and Razar, being stupid as if their mutations were imperfect. Having them say "oh we'll heal her with the ooze!" and then she comes out as a perfect ninja turtle trivializes the rest of the turtles

Sophie Campbell Is a good artist she has worked on TMNT on and off for years and has done other comics for IDW. Yes she used a design similar to an old DA character she made for this new character. She probably shouldn't have done that. But she's not even the writer for the comic.

Tokka and Razar were stupid because the ooze was corrupted. Bebop and Rocksteady were stupid because they were goddamn morons. There was nothing wrong with the ooze that made them.

1. That's a fair criticism if she joins the family. Though if she lives with them I assume it's because it's hard for a giant turtle to rent an apartment. Where did she live beforehand.

But if she just works with the turtles, like Casey and April, I don't see the issue.

2. Why does Casey get a baseball bat and hockey stick? I assume the turtles are free to use whatever they want, and they just use the weapons they feel comfortable with. Though it does irk me a bit that she gets a sword. That's Leo's thing. A bow and claw are plenty.

Id assume its because she was formerly human and is predisposed to being ashamed of nudeness whereas the OG turtles were always turtles and thus dont have that issue.

Heh, you know I looked at that pic again and it looks like the artist did originally name the character Artemisia, as in Artemisia Gentileschi. Dunno why they couldn't have just carried that over.

1; They have been working together with other mutants in the past, including a turtle named Slash, without it turning into a third wheel. She will most likely stay with Splinters Foot Clan instead of being the fifth turtle, if he manages to stay alive.

2; As a hightier Foot Clan soldier, she is trained to be good with different weapons. Why should she suddenly go OOC and only use one?

3; She was deadly wounded, they are attacked and on the run, and the only way they could think of saving her was to use the Ooze on her (it has healed humans in the past), but their only can of it got destroyed by an attack, so Leonardo was forced to do a blood transfusion with her.
The little Ooze she had in her body reacted with the mutated turtle blood, so why wouldnt she be turned into a turtle? It is the same mutagen.

There's an art to character design and color plays into it. It's no coincidence that the level-headed turtle wears the color of calmness and goodness, the wacky turtle wears the color of high energy and the hothead turtle wears the color of passion. For Donnie, though, I got nothin.

Yellow is the color of fun though so I have no idea why she's clearly turboRaph levels of edge...
