I had this thought while thinking about black Ariel in the live action "The Little Mermaid." What if Hollywood writers were so racist that they wanted to deflect suspicion of them being racist, and that's why they cast black people in roles that you would normally expect to go to white people? Is that racism in and of itself? When Hollywood does that sort of thing, isn't that actually more racist than just playing along with expectations?

Nah. I think most writers are very liberal and open to this kind of stuff. It's the producers and all the rich big shots that are probably racist.
