I want to say it's shocking how few things people ITT have tried, but then I remember not everyone lives in Southern California and it's mainly Cali that has the businesses trying out all these new things.

I live 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles and haven't had any of them. I mostly shop around Irvine and haven't even heard of most of those.

How do you not experience any of these when youre around Irvine?

Cronut
Black Ice Cream
Quinoa
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Kombucha
Matcha
Poke
La Croix
Rolled Ice Cream
Rose
Almond Butter
Green Juice
Cauliflower Rice
Boba

That's 14 which puts me in "yas almost millennial" territory. Born in '95 which is kind of the cutoff year between millennials & gen Z'ers so it makes sense.

I'll give you a run down on them:
Cronut - About what you'd expect a croissant/donut hybrid would be; perfectly solid.
Black Ice Cream - Might be cheating on this one since it's probably referring to squid ink ice cream, which I haven't had. I have, however had some really good dark chocolate ice cream in town that was pitch black in color.
Quinoa - Solid contender for the best non-rice grain. Not much flavor on its own but it does well in a lot of dishes & it's super good for you too. Has a really nice texture that's difficult to describe...
Pumpkin Spice Latte - Just tastes like a standard latte with some pumpkin pie flavoring
Kombucha - Not a fan; imagine regular iced tea with a couple tablespoons of vinegar mixed in. I do, however, find Humm brand kombucha good & palatable, and I think it's sold at basically every Target if you're interested in trying it.
Matcha - Had this in ice cream form at a really nice restaurant in Chicago. If you've ever had regular green tea ice cream it pretty much just tasted like that.
Poke - If you like sesame flavoring and/or sushi you'll love this! Otherwise something you'll probably want to avoid. Basically nonexistent here in MN since we live so far from the ocean, but I had a poke bowl in Seattle last March & loved it - I'm sure it's even better in Hawaii.
La Croix - Eh. It's refreshing but nothing to write home about; if you don't like regular sparkling water you probably won't like this.
Rolled Ice Cream - Tastes pretty dang good, but the real appeal is watching them make it in front of you. If you haven't already seen it there's plenty of YouTube videos of people preparing it.
Rose - Not a wine aficionado so I can't really give you a nuanced opinion about this. :/
Almond Butter - Tastes like adulthood & not in the good way; not recommended!
Green Juice - Going back to what I said about kombucha, if you live near a Target I think they all sell Naked "Green Machine" juice; looks like literal sewage but has a tasty pineapple/kiwi smoothie flavor.
Cauliflower Rice - I like cauliflower so obviously I think this is ok, but generally it's kind of pointless; cauliflower cooks nicer when it's in one piece, and it doesn't really serve as an adequate substitute for rice.
Boba - Gummies you can drink! Only milder in sweetness. Seems like more of a texture thing than a flavor thing but it's nice in the right setting.

I don't know. Most of the restaurants I eat at are sit down ones, like Denny's, PF Chang's, Marie Callender's or higher end Indian restaurants. And the occasional trip to Wendy's or In n Out for a quick snack.

3 or 4. I've had, and enjoy, La Croix, Avacado Toast and Poke.

My wife makes overnight oats, dunno if I've ever eaten it.

I'll get a ramen burger eventually though. The one food truck around here makes them.

Edit : I missed boba. I've had boba several times and do not enjoy it.

Who wrote this? Someone's 77 year old dad on facebook?

Who is advertising 'overnight oats' to young people, when that shit is clearly showing up next to magazine ads for Activia?

Matcha is green tea. And if you've ever eaten green tea flavored anything, matcha powder is how they create that flavor.

Any meat broth is 'bone broth.'

I can't.

Haha, not even in the slightest bit.

Cauliflower rice is better than rice. Quinoa was a 1 time thing and fucking nasty. And waffle sandwiches are amazing.

None of that stuff is Millenial. The correct answer would be "hipster douche bag."

Seriously I really don't think most people understand what ages Millenials are. The oldest Millenial is 37 years old. The term was created for those that would be coming of age at the millennium, not those born right before it, even though they are still Millenials. Yet any time the media talks about Millenials they act like those in their thirties just literally don't exist at all.

I'd argue their definition of douchebag as well. If you really want to judge someone based off of things they've eaten, that's still quite the conclusion to reach. Especially considering the criteria is simply having tried something instead of regulary eating it, but even that would be an absurd reason to consider someone a douchebag.

But I can't because I've tried everything on that list so I'm pretty biased and thus it couldn't possibly be a shitty take.
