This is my first experience dealing with something like this. Seems like he's content with not driving at the moment, but I actually stood behind his truck so he couldn't back out at one point.

His wife is now on the way...

On top of all this, someone stole his work laptop and backpack out of his truck and he's just now finding out about it.

What feeling it's going to be to have to knock the shit out of your boss to stop him from driving. Ohhhh that would be sweet.

Drunk driving is a crime but you know what else is? Assault.

Cops wouldn't care if he had to knock him out to stop him from driving drunk.

Well that was an experience, to say the least... Never had to do that before...

One of our coworkers is leaving the company and we were having a going away party for her. I got there at about 5:40pm. I left after after about 15 minutes to go to the gym. I worked out, went home, and showered. I was going to stay home, but I just decided to go back on a whim to see if they were still there.

Most people were still there, but they had just moved to a table in the outside area of the restaurant. The lady who is leaving was happy to see that I came back. She came over and sat next to me and said "Your boss is pretty fucked up" in a joking manner.

Apparently his car alarm went off at 5:30pm. He somehow has his car set so that it sends an alert to his phone if the alarm goes off. He went back to check and I guess he didn't see anything wrong at the time. He went back into the restaurant to continue drinking and socializing.

We went outside at about 11pm and that's when he went back to his truck and noticed his backpack wasn't in his truck any more. He was struggling to stand up straight. He was slurring his words a bit. When he was walking around, he wasn't able to walk in a straight line.

I said he would be fine to drive home, but I kept telling him he was swaying back and forth and kept switching his stance to keep his balance.

He literally said "What? I'm not swaying! YOU'RE swaying!"

He got in his truck and was about to drive. The lady we were having the party for was begging him not to drive. I just decided to stand behind his truck and hoped he wouldn't just back over me any way, lol... I wasn't sure what the fuck was gonna happen, but that was the only thing I could think of to do in that moment to keep him from moving his truck.

My dad broke my family and it all started because he decided to drive home drunk in the company car. He hit a woman and put her in a wheelchair... She sued the company he worked for and won about $2 million back in the mid 1980s. My dad lost his job and that started a downward spiral for him. He started doing drugs and all kinds of stuff. My grandparents on my dad's side brought him back home and paid for his rehab. After he graduated from rehab, he went back to doing drugs again. He never really sobered up until he started getting really sick with cancer. He died about a year and a half later (last October).

It feels like he should still be around had he not made those choices, but you never really know. My aunts and uncles shared the same sentiment with me when I went to visit them after the fact. They tried their best in their own ways to help him get better, but he never really did. I'm thinking he never forgave himself for hitting that lady.

Yeah i've been involved in a drunk driving accident. As a passenger in the desert with no one around, 80mph crash. This truck rolled 17 times just right to not kill us, but I broke a lot of shit. It was about that time that I smarted up to it and said fuck that. And yeah I would knock my best friend out to to stop them from getting behind the wheel drunk.

I never knew the story of what happened between my parents until I asked my aunts and uncles about it the day we decided to put my dad in hospice care.

My mom never wanted to say negative things about him to me. She just told me not to do drugs my whole life. I knew my dad was on drugs at least at one point, but I didn't know that he was continuing to do them here and there. At least, not until he sent me a check for my birthday one year. The check bounced. He tried to make up for it by sending me a money order, but he ended up just sending me an empty envelope in the mail. I just told him not to send me any more money after that.

I was scared AF when they check bounced. I thought I was somehow going to get arrested or my credit score would take a plunge because of it, lol

You're a network admin. You're fine. Put all that garbage behind you and get drunk and have fun.

I almost knocked out our intranet the other day.

Yeah, I'm OK. I've just never had any interest in drinking alcohol or getting drunk.
