No shit, just do squats or other exercises. Deadlifting is murder on your lower back, you mess up once you're dead. No questions asked you lose your life.

Physical therapist here.
Deadlifts are fine. Just like anything form is key, but being off form won't destroy you. Of course freak accidents can happen, thats true for any lift. You are always one rep away from something going wrong doesn't mean you should not do them. Of course it all depends on what you are exactly trying to accomplish so deadlifts aren't a necessary thing to do.depending on your goals, and always there are other lifts that can serve a similar purpose if you feel like deadlifting is not for you. --- ...
