She was practicing "touch and go" takeoffs and landings in a single engine plane affiliated with Civil Air Patrol when she suddenly crashed at 3:15pm on the Ole Miss Golf Course She was the ONLY person on board and suffered "serious burns in the crash" and she is the daughter of Ward 3 Alderman David Little She was also going to the University of Southern Mississippi student this fall No one on the ground was injured as the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are now investigating the accident. Witness Britan Scott Ripee was on the golf course when he saw the small plane fall out of the sky and nose dived into the ground. He said "We were on hole 9, it looked like it was landing and then aborted the landing and we saw it struggle to come back up. Then when we were walking off the green, it just fell straight down into the trees" Lake was also supposed to compete in the July Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant Governor Phil Bryant mourned her death and said it was a terrible tragedy who offered condolences Do you think there should be a qualified passenger for people who just got their pilot's license?? I'm sure there is. This was probably just a freak accident, because you don't hear about things like this often.
