This is majorly boring so far. Looks great for the period, though. And a lot of recorded lines. They sound like shit, but that's still very impressive to me.

Shenmue is a game you had to play during that time. For me, it's just nostalgia, but I would never play this for the first time now.

Ah, good to know. I just had a QTE fight with some randos because they bumped into me. I can't think of any other game from back then like this. This had to be a bit ground breaking.

It's one of the most overrated and absurdly loved series that still exists. I played it originally on Dreamcast when it came out, I remember being super hyped, and then just talked, walked around, talked more, got candy for a kid or something. Got a job, moved crates. Once every hour or so I got to beat someone up for 2 minutes.
It bored me to tears, and I recently gave it another shot because it's now on Gamepass, and it's just as dull. I get what the narrative did for gaming back in that generation and why it set itself apart so much from what else was out there, but even then, the result was disappointing. --- Ten million dollars on a losing campaign, Twenty million starving and writhing in pain.
