I only ask because there seems to be TV shows and comics that spawned from the MCU so I was wondering.

I've only really been interested in Spider-Man but Far From Home kinda made me feel like I was missing out on the overarching story. And it's not like I hate the idea anyway, so I might as well sorta binge watch them in order by the time Phase 4 starts.

The movies are consequential to the shows, but not the other way around.

yea, you only need to watch the movies, though the shows can be entertaining.

and as far as understating/appreciating Far From Home goes, you should watch: Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, and Endgame.

and maybe the first Ironman movie, but I've never seen it, so idk.

edit: and Captain Marvel.

Not even every movie is necessary

I disagree, each one plays some sort of role in the overall MCU direction. Only one I would say to pass on is Incredible Hulk, but only if you know the origin of Hulk to begin with.

You don't need to watch the TV shows to be able to follow the films.

If you are interested in the TV stuff, I'll say that Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D both actually do tie in to the films to an extent and are both good watches.

Other ABC shows and Netflix stuff are...way more loosely connected, and vary in quality a bit more.

Thanks guys. I have watched Homecoming, haven't gotten around to the last three Avengers movies despite knowing Spider-Man is in them.
