It's got less weird WW2 Japan apologism, focuses more broadly on all of the major naval powers involved instead of just japan, and is overall more moe and fun in tone --- butts ... Kinda interesting this got the go and not Girls Frontline which started that type of gacha genre (unless there's another before GFL).
