All I did was take a users post about how he felt white people were under attack (his post was not a TOS violation), quote it as is, attribute it to that poster, and present it in a neutral way - calling it an interesting take and asking what others thought about it. Thats it. It wasnt presented in a manner that was anything even close to antagonizing. I didnt call said user dumb, I didnt say his take was idiotic, and yet it still went down for "harassment". I stupidly thought maybe I could get a more reasonable consideration by appealing - NOPE. And because they really dont want you to appeal moderations anymore, this ridiculous decision will be held against me for nearly two months. What a fucking joke. Allen might has well have just said "We're fucking tired of reading and responding to disputes so here's the new deal. I'm putting in a vote system so I don't have to reply to them anymore. Don't like it then just accept your moderations" Also I have definitely noticed it becoming more of a babyfaqs recently. Things started getting worse when they adopted the zero tolerance flaming rules a year or so ago, and the terrible moderating has really been cranked up to 11 since they added the new mods a few months ago. I appreciate that our volunteer mods are willing to give their time to clean up the message boards here, but the end result has been undeniably abysmal, and its been compounded by the extreme discouragement of appealing like you said.
