I always liked Crono, Marle, Magus.
Not because they were the best team from a gameplay perspective or whatever, but more that they were my favorite from a story perspective. The game is easy enough that you can choose that way. The only time I had much trouble at all was the final form of the final boss, and that was mostly just because it takes so blasted long. I don't remember. I liked to mix it up. Ayla would be used the least probably.

crono robo ayla Same. Robo gets all the speed tabs, notably. Ayla for boss stealing and raw power, Robo for AoE heal. They all do AoE damage and have good double techs. The triple tech is rather weak but tbh most triple techs are inferior to double tech+single action. --- Remember that I won't rest, 'til we share the same tense Just know, to me, you're better late than never again. ... I always mix it up, so I don't really have a specific team. Only time I care about having a specific character at a certain point is Magus when facing Queen Zeal.
