I support reparations for slavery, exclusion from the homestead act and GI Bill, jim crow laws, redlining, the destruction of major sources of black income and welfare, the "war on drugs" and widespread police brutality, yes.

Not necessarily, but one thing to keep in mind is that the consequences of slavery and Jim Crow laws are STILL propagating today, even before you take into account modern issues of systemic racism.

Slavery ended 154 years ago. Someone's great-grandparents could have been a slave. A poor black family from 154 years ago would have had far fewer opportunities than a poor white family from 154 years ago. There are also emotional traumas which still shape the identities of black families.

What's the solution? Maybe better access to education (especially at younger ages), maybe better access to healthcare. I know some people will point to these as "reverse racism", but it's in an effort to correct an overt issue caused by the state the still effects families.

Like im not against cash reparations, but I think it might be more fruitful for other benefits like reduced housing cost/tax credits/subsidies for African Americans. Allow us to accumulate and hold on to wealth which was the problem.

but there needs to be a committee or something that decides what the contribution is. i'm not concerned with a cash out, as nice as that would be. give something that would help us prosper as a people, like free education or something.

No. Those who have been affected by wrongdoings of the government deserve compensation, but not if they're long dead. There isn't even a reasonable way to sort out who even deserves it. If they tried to frame it from more modern grievances, they might have a better case for it, but it'd need to be very specific for me to ever support it.
