I've pretty much been working every day for the past few weeks...

Me: Had to work all weekend because of a few things going on
Director of IT: So you'll be taking some extra time off, right?
Me: Hopefully
Director of IT: No, not a hopefully, you need to take some time off
Me: As long as nothing breaks, I can take a day... Maybe...
Director of IT: No, you're gonna take some time off

Yeah, I get it, I do need to take a day off but... if something on the network breaks or is something needs to be done with the network, I'm the only one who knows what to do...

So I'm planning to take Friday off since we're off on Thursday any way. We'll see how that goes.

seems like a simple case of teaching somebody else how to do what. unless you're not doing that on purpose for job security reasons.

They just barely hired another network guy on as a contractor, but said he can only work on new locations and not general network maintenance or break/fix. I want him to be hired on full time and be able to do everything I can do.

I've been asking for additional headcount for months. The IT team is the only department in the company that has shrunk in the 3 years I've been here. Every other department has expanded quite a bit.
