Shenmue is truly a product of its time. While a revolutionary game when it first was released (as I've been told, since I never owned a Dreamcast), several games by now have already improved on what it first introduced. And now, the clunky controls, laughable voice acting, and inability to progress time quickly to trigger events is a pretty large annoyance when playing. It still was an overall enjoyable experience for me, as the story and characters kept me going until the end. I also liked the battle system a bit as more moves unlocked, but some of the combos were very difficult to pull off. The guy with the stick in the 70-man battle was the toughest opponent in the game. No special things needed for the platinum besides winning at least one of the forklift races, collecting 50 gacha toys, and triggering a number of different events throughout the game, mostly in the first half.

For my 125th platinum, I've already decided that I will be making Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age be that milestone, as I've enjoyed that game a whole lot over the past month, and will definitely get the platinum in it during July.

I do plan to play Shenmue II later this year, so I am ready for Shenmue III later this year. Even though it doesn't look so good in trailers, it can't be as bad as Jump Force, right?
