But making an R-rated live action film universe would be upping the ante. There's Deadpool, but he's self-contained. Making R-rated versions of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman (no nudity) might give them a successful niche audience. People act like the R rating is the kiss of death, but action movies and horror movies made bank back in the day. And DC's most stalwart fans are the guys who act like Batman is all about prostitutes, pedophiles, faces getting cut off, and so forth.
