One of my all time favs but Jesus I always forget how bad it is. Even with mods to stabilize the game, it crashes constantly.

Walk out of a building, game crashes.

Walk into a building, game crashes.

go into VATs game crashes.

Open Pipboy game crashes.

Game doesn't crash for a while, make some progress. Game crashes at saving. File corrupted.

I occasionally get crashes a minute or so after reloading a save; usually in the context of enemy kills me once or twice, and the game trollolol crashes just after I beat it on the second or third try. But on the whole its at least on-par with other Bethesda-framework games, generally even a little smoother.

Sounds like you're having some really specific mod issues or something. Even on the 360, the game--while certainly buggy--wasn't as bad as you described.

It rarely crashes with mods installed, you might have a messed up load order or something is conflicting.

I had a ton of issues on 360. Idk but my game froze and crashed constantly.

Load order is ok. I even disabled all my mods and had the same problem.

There's that Energy Weapons glitch.

Incinerated or melted bodies never disappear and cause a lot of stress on the engine, or something like that.

I haven't tried New Vegas with it yet, but the STEP modding guides for both Skyrim and Fallout 3 made for pretty solid playthroughs for me in terms of stability. It's a lot of work to play a game but you don't have to install everything

Knowing Bethesda they would be just as buggy as the original releases lol.

So i got it working. Repaired the game, reinstalled every mod, reinstalled the Script Extender, reinstalled the 4gb, and enabled each mod one by one.

Its finally working now. Still crashes from time to time but im getting solid gameplay

While the bugginess of Fallout games is super annoying, I had one that just made me shake my head and laugh.

I came out of the radioactive vault and see this NCR ranger running toward me. I'm well liked by them so I assume he's been looking for me to give me a quest or some info. Nope. Dude busts out a shotgun and starts blasting at me. Fuck. Okay. I hose the guy, and as he's falling down dead another dude (same skin and everything) teleports down ontop of him and starts shooting at me. I kill him and the same thing happens. Again. And again. And again.

I reboot an old save file (like two hours pervious type old) and sure enough, I enter a building and dude's inside and starts blasting me.

I got back ten fucking hours in my save states and this dude always shows up outta nowhere and tries to kill me.

Said fuck it. Put the game down for a couple months and then when I restarted I joined the slavers so I could kill the NCR.

Played on PC every couple of years since it released and have never had any issues. (I've had minor issues with other bethesda games from time to time, but don't remember any with NV) I don't use mods though.

I was having a severe crashing problem. Disabling all my mods would fix nothing. So I went down a slow process of troubleshooting using clean saves from the start. Turns out, two mods to improve stability and preformance were causing the crashes. After Uninstalling both New Vegas Anti Crash and New Vegas Stutter Remover, and starting a clean brand new save, I haven't crashed since.

I don't trust performance mods on principle after the fiasco with certain Fallout 4 enhancers unwittingly breaking precombined meshes and just making things worse. I've also never used one that made a clear and noticeable difference, tbh (I've only got modding experience with the XB1 though).

It ran pretty smoothly on 360 but it crashed. It didn't have to deal with PC shit though.

yeah its different on PC, most of them use/require the script extender for their respective games so they have more function than just messing with meshes
